Dr Mahmood holds Clinical Senior Lectureships at the Universities of Edinburgh, St Andrews, and Dundee. He is also a teaching sub dean for Undergraduate Faculty at the Dundee Medical School. He was made “Commander of the order of British Empire (CBE)” in the 2012 New year’s honours list for his services to the Women’s health. He was also admitted as an Honorary Fellow of the American College Of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FACOG) in May 2011 of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh in June 2014(FRCP-Edinburgh) .
